Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Recently, I was divorced and awarded the home we shared. Since neither of us had the money to refinance and place it solely in my name, both our names are on the loan. The ex informs me that he is looking into bankruptcy. What ramifications would this have for me? Would I loose the house? What should I do?
Thanks,
Anita

Great question. It comes up often. Answer: No ramifications from his bankruptcy itself. The lender only wants the money and cannot do anything so long as the payments are made. If your former spouse's bankruptcy somehow messes up your own credit report, see an attorney about getting some damages.
