Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida
Will Judgement Go Away After Bankruptcy?
A judgement was placed against us on 1-4-01 for a reposession of a car. We filed bankruptcy and it was discharged on 8-8-01. We filed the papers through a parallegal and now we are trying to find out if that judgement could possibly still stand against us if the debt was discharged. Nobody will give me a straight answer they just say contact an attorney.

If the judgment was duly scheduled, it is no longer collectable against you. It may continue to constitute a lien against your propery.A separate proceeding is necesary in state court that can be brought 1 year after your discharge.
