Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
3rd part gained access to invoice information
I have a situation I am hoping someone can tell me what legal issues might be in play with.
I have a customer who tells me that their end customer (3rd party) has copies of some invoices for transactions between my company and my customer. I contacted my credit department, and they tell me that we received a request from the 3rd party for the copies invoices and we sent them, which they recognize was a mistake. Now my customer is upset because we disclosed information that allows the 3rd party to see cost, margin, etc for transactions they never should have seen.
Any advice?

I don't have any advice other than to fire your credit department. You haven't done anything illegal, just unfortunate. Let me know if you have a specific question.
