Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
3rd Party Software Development
I am an Sales Agent for a medical software company and want to create a third party collection software that would interface with the software to pull data. Can I create this without consulting the software vendor? And If I can consult the vendor, can I prevent them from creating this third party collection software if I give them the idea?

I don't see how you can prevent the vendor from creating the 3rd party software even if you give them the idea. That is what competition is all about. Your best bet may be to pitch the idea and give them a price to make the 3rd party software for them or to partner on the project. Sincerely,
Randall Gilbert.
Re: 3rd Party Software Development
It depends upon your employemnt contract with them and whether their software is public information or classified to its employees. In any event, since it would be developed for their use I would speak to them first. If they are in favor of the idea, you can get up a written agreement. Good luck.
