Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

We have 3 salaried employees one left for a vacation for one week after that week he was checked into drug rehab then after full checkout with a doctor we find out he has blatter cancer and he is going be out for 6 months now ive worked the 7 days a week for the last 2 weeks with a total # of 141.5 hours and they said they will not hire a replacement and the expect us to continue with the hours until further notice with no added compensation????? Is this legal
