Advertising Agency Trade Customs
An Advertising Agency is retained to provide design services for a client. Designing logo, flyers, brochures, etc. Payment was received for services. All work is on discs at the agency. Who ownes the rights to all this work, the client or the agency who produced the work. Please advise. Thank You

Your situation is typically a matter of contract. Some contracts in this situation state that the work becomes the client's property, others state that original work remains the property of the ad agency. Certainly any files (e.g., artwork on disc, logos, etc) which you have provided to the agency remain yours, but in many cases, any type of design agency will typically retain rights to improved, "original" work that they have done.
