Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Apply existing license to a new business?

I am a sole proprietor and have a ficticious name and

license to run a business called NAOFA (National

Appreciation of Fine Artists). This is an art-related

service and design business on the internet.

I would like to start up another business to sell

watches on the internet. This business has a name of

"The 4th Dimension Watches". Can I operate the "4th

Dimension" under the registered license and ficticious

name of NAOFA?

Is there any legal reason why I cannot operate the

watch busines under the registered NAOFA business?

Thank you. Any answer would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Apply existing license to a new business?

Generally, I would recommend a differnt entity for each different business type. The reason being that there is no need to subject one operation to the potential liabilities of the other. Each should be a corporate vehicle so as to protect your personal assets.

In your situation the license you have may contain resrtiction on your proposed solution.

A careful reading of it by an atty is urged. If you wish to contact me you may call 305-940-8080
