Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I was asked to cosign a vehicle for a friend but when everything was done I ended up as the owner. Now the vehicle has been paid off and traded in I'm getting the extended warranty back, the friend has been dealing with the company behind my back trying to get the check signed over to her so I don't receive the money. I want to know if I'm to go there and sign for the release and collect the check does the dealership have any place to be calling her and letting her know that they have given the check to me?

Ownership on the title is not the same as being the co-signer on the loan. Depending on the language of the extended warranty, it's possible she's entitled to half of the rebate, or none at all. I can't see any circumstance in which she's entitled to all of it. Whether the dealer has any obligation to you, or to her, other than the return of the money to those legally entitled to it, is not clear.
