Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Bank Funds Garnished

Need Advise: We received without previous notice a letter from an attorney garnishing our bank account for aprox. $15,000.00 as well as a bank notification to the effect. We notified our attorney who told us he would research and call us today, we haven't been able to contact him or get him to return our call, even though we left several messages. How is it possible for someone to freeze our funds without us being allowed to defend ourselves?

Re: Bank Funds Garnished

Contact your attorney or get another one. Garnishment procedures allow a freeze but only for a short time. There is a mechanism to defend the suit but you must act promptly.
