Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Board Members
If a person owns a business and sits on the Board of Directors for a Local Youth Sports League, can that same person do business with the League or is that a conflict of interest? Even if sealed bids are taken?

Re: Board Members
It depends on the leagues rules, so you should try to get a copy and review them. However, in most cases a board member can do business with the entity of which it is a board member, so long as there is full disclosure of the business agreement between the league and the board member to all board members and a majority of the board members approve the business agreement.
