Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

If my boss has allowed other employees to bring there children to work after daycare, and I ask to do the same once my child is born in June. Is it illegal that he has told me no, when he's allowed other employees to bring there kids to work. It is a small business and he has shown reasonable accommodations for the other staff. Do I have a case?

As a Franchise Attorney I think you need to consider the following. An employer is entitled to set and change hours, duties, titles, compensation, benefits, leaves, vacations, holidays, policies, rules, etc. just not retroactively. So they can change their allowing children on work premises policy at any time. Plus, you're talking about a newborn, which is an entirely different set of risks and responsibilities. If I were you, my goal would be to keep my employer happy so I keep my job. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
