Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Breach of Contract with International representative firm
In March 2000, I signed a contract with a manufacturer to represent this company for the territory of Central America. The contract stated that I was to be paid on all sales into this territory.
The manufacturer constantly by passed myself and my deistributors located in each country and sold to other distributors and end users. Paying me no commissions.
They did not report to me all of the the sales into the territories only the ones I found out about. In the contract it stated that they would provide me with that monthly.
On June 6, 2005 I recieved an email stating they no longer required my services and that the contract was now ''null'' According to my contract I must recieve a notice via certified mail. Not an email.
What are my legal rights to force the manufacturer to pay me on all commissions due that i know about and ones that they have been hidden from me over the past 4 years.
The manufacturer is a foreign company from France, the contract was written and signed in Miami, Fl.
Am i due any other compensation for unfair business practices?
Best Regards,
Plantiff

Depending upon how the contract reads & how it was entered into, you may be able to obtain jurisdiction over them in Florida to obtain a judgment. The second issue is how do you collect.
Unless they have assets in Florida, you will have to go to France to enforce it. The laws there may be different. Good luck.
