Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I have a business out of the country and I have a client that owes me money from the United States. What do I do?

How you proceed frankly depends. The first question will be what is the amount in controversy? I assume the other party resides in FL, which is why you used this jurisdiction? If that is the case, the FL small claims court can offer an award up to $8000. So if your matter is worth less or not much more than that, then using the small claims court might be an effective strategy. You can call the court and make sure that there is no issue with a foreign national bringing a claim there, but I don't think this is a problem so long as the defendant is in FL. You can also see if you can file the complaint online but if not you can always hire a paralegal or just a currier to bring the forms to the court for you.
Now even if you really have no intention of showing up in FL for a hearing, when the other party gets the summons they may reach out in an effort to settle the case so they don't have to show up in court. And if you settle you can just not show up and the case is automatically dismissed or you can see if you can formally request a dimissal.
Another approach is to use a lawyer to send a written demand, but of course this will cost you money. If the amount is more than $8000 then this might be the better strategy.
