Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Business Law
I have been served with a summons to
appear in Oregon court on the 16th of
Jan. 2009. However, I am now living in
Florida and have no way financially to
get there. Is there a way of postponing
this until I am able to get there?

You don't give nearly enough information to properly answer the question. In any event, you should have your attorney contact the attorney issuing the subpoena. If you are not represented and you intend to present yourself, you should contact the attorney yourself.
Only the issuing court/attorney can answer your question completely.
Re: Business Law
Not unless the attorney agrees. If you owe the debt, work out a settlement. If not, retain counsel. If you default, a judgment will be entered against you.
