Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Business Misrepresentation

I had a booth at a home show in Orlando Fl. the ad stated an estimated crowd of 35,000 people in attendance. also $200,000.00 was to spent of advertising. Needless to say 1,000 people showed up over 3 days. No advertising was done till the day of the event. they also turned the lights off at 3:30 on Sunday and the show was supposed to go till 6:00. I paid 1300.00 for this booth. I have found out that this co. Pulled the same stunt in Tampa as well. Do I have a legal case against this company

Yes. You can try to stop payment or sue to recover your payment for breach of contrct. You might be able to go to small claims, but I don't remember off hand if companies are allowed. It may be that a person can sue a company but not a compmany bringing suit. You can find out on the website for your county courts.

Also, you can press criminal fraud charges if they have done the same thing again because that would be evidence of intent to trick you to do something they've made money off of before and an intent to continue to trick new people in new towns.
