Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
cancelling a check
My company gave a check to a subcontractor for services rendered. There is a dispute as to how much I owe them. Can I cancel the check until the dispute is solved and how do I legally do it?
Thanks.

Re: cancelling a check
If you have not overpaid, then don't cancel the check because you appear to admit that you owe them something. If they want more you can fight that claim without appearing to be trying to completely cheat them. We can assist you in this if you wish.
