Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Car Contract
I purchased a used vehicle in orlando Florida in February 2007. I am going through a divorce and would like to leave the state for a better job opportunity. A clause in the contract states that I can't leave the area with teh vehicle without permission. they have denied me my request. What can I do to stay legal? If I stay in Florida on my salary I will not be able to survive and pay my bills due to the cost of living there, but if I leave, I will be able to support myself and pay my car payments. I feel I am being discrimminated because I havea Spanish last name, but I am not Hispanic.

Re: Car Contract
I am not sure how reasonable the clause is - you could file a small claims action to request the court declare the clause to be unconscionable and void. The only way the action is discriminatory is if the clause is only in your contract and no one elses or only in the contracts with individuals with hispanic type last names.
