new car
i jusr bought a new car on aug 16th 2007. i was very honest with saleman about my credit and told them i didnt have bank account or much provable income. they said no prob and sold me a 2007 suzuki forenza. approx 2 or 3 weeks later they called and said that the bank wont finace me , as they told me that they would. i have had this car for almost 3 weeks.. I think it is terrible that they would do this to me, but i understand.. all i want to know is... do they leagally have to give me back my $2,000.00 that I put down, and my chevy blazer that i traded in. please help. 2,000 might not be alot to them but to me, its my life savings. Thankyou

This is unfortunately a common trick used by car salesman when dealing with person's in your financial status. Often times, they may "find" financing for you but only at inflated rates due to your situation. I would let them know that you will not return the new car until your old car is returned to you and your money is deposited in your account. They will squalk but you are holding the new car.

If you don't get to keep the new car, then they don't get to keep what you gave them, unless your contract allows them to keep some of the money. Read your contract, but this was their mistake.
