I am an electrician, who has an S Corp. I want to partner with a colleague and was told an LLC is best. Can I change my S Corp to an LLC or will I have to dissolve the Corp to establish an LLC??

Re: Changing an S Corp to an LLC
You need to discuss this matter with a business law attorney as your question is too general. First, why is it that you want to go from an S Corp to an LLC? Generally, a small company that qualifies under both LLC and S Corp rules will benefit by maintaining the S Corp status for tax purposes even if they are established as an LLC.
As a business owner, do yourself a favor and retain a business law attorney and tax advisor. They may pay for themselves in the long run.
You can e-mail me if you would like to further discuss this matter.
