Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

code of federal regulation, Volume 16, Section 225 and 436

I received a letter in the mail instructing me to send $1 to 6 people on a list, take the first person's name off the list and add my name to the end of the list. I am to send 200 copies of the letter and will make ALOT of money within 3 months. Supposedly, as long as I send a note with my $1 asking each person to ''Please put me on a mailing list'', it is legal because being put on a mailing list is a service in exchange for my money. The letter states that this service is 100 % legal and refers to the US Postal Lottery Laws Title 18, Sections 1302, 1342, and 1343, and also the federal regulation code named in the subject, but I am still not sure if this is a perfectly legal money opportunity, as stated in the letter. Please let me know if this is legal and/or what it would take to make it legal. Thank you!

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Whether it is legal or not is not of great importance. You should realize that the only people who ever benefit from these "get rich quick" schemes are the promoters themselves who suck you into believing that for only a few dollars you will get hundreds if not thousands of dollars each month.

You would be smart to simply throw away or delete any such offer you get. They simply do not work and will part a fool and his or her money.
