Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Can a company withhold money from your pay check if you damaged a clients property? In a employee agreement I had to (or loss my job) sign last month it has a section in there that talks about Deductions from Compensation. In that section it has a paragraph that states as follows

"thecost of repairingorreplacinganyEmployersupplies,materials,equipment,money,orotherproperty thatEmployeemaydamage(otherthannormalwearandtear),lose,failtoreturn,ortakewithout

appropriateauthorizationfromEmployerduringEmployeesemployment(exceptinthecaseof

misappropriationofmoneybyEmployee,Employeeunderstandsthatnosuchdeductionwillreducethe

hourlywagebelowminimumwage,or,ifEmployeeisasalariedexemptemployee,reducesalarybelowits

predeterminedamount)"

In this it doesn't talk about "client property" it just mentions "other property" is this legal to withhold my money?

I doubt this paragraph covers your situation. Does you employer have insurance for type of loss? If not and you like your job, let it go.
