Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Competitor lying to intentionally hurt someone's business?
My husband started a new company about 8 months ago. His biggest competitor has made his life miserable ever since. He started by threatening him, over the phone, to ''put him out of business.'' Then he began telling customers lies about my husband. The next step was to contact someone my husband purchases material from and told them that if they continue to sell to my husband, they will stop buying from them. Now the company (a mill in Korea) is scared of losing the business so they don't want to sell to my husband. The most recent was telling a potential new employee that my husband was a ''S.O.B.'' and that he was going to ''put him under.'' The employee is now afraid to work for him. This is not my idea of healthy competition. Do we have any legal recourse? Thank you.

It certainly seems that they are interfering with your business relations. You should contact an attorney re: a course of action.
