Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Contract, Warranty Questions

I am the co-owner of a small computer store (sole proprietorship) in Florida. My question concerns a problem I am having with a customer.

I sold 3 new computer systems and wired a network for a local company 6 month ago. They have an invoice as a bill of sale. They have no written contract as to warranty on the systems. I tell all customers the warranty is 1st year parts and labor, 2nd and 3rd year parts only are covered. The customer is now ''mad'' at me (I think he has a buddy in the computer business and wants to give him work) and is threatening me with calling someone else to do any repairs necessary on the systems and billing me for the work without even giving me the chance to repair it myself. He says he has been calling for a month to get me to come fix something but I have seen nothing on my caller ID and have not had any messages from him.

Questions:

What legal recourse do they have?

What are my liabilities in this matter?

I would gladly honor my part of the warranty but it appears they are not going to inform me of a problem until someone else fixes it and they send me the (inflated) bill. What do I do about this?

Re: Contract, Warranty Questions

Obviously, you are now aware he has a problem. Call

him and offer to honor any warranties you have

given. Follow this up with a letter, so you

will have written documentation later on in case

there is a dispute as to whether you agreed to honor

your warranty.

Re: Contract, Warranty Questions

Contact the person and set up an appointment to fix the problem. Confirm it in writing, and show up to repair the problem.
