Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Coupons; can I really save?

I was looking through a car magazine and I came across a few coupons in the middle of the page that read ''$1000 Off Any Vechicle Purchase *Coupon must be presented at time of sale''

Well, I was looking through the magazine to see if they had any more fine print about the coupons and nothing. I looked on the website, nothing.

I was wondering, if I'm able to gather up enough coupons, would it be legal for me to present them to the car dealership and would it be legal for them to refuse/accept these coupons?

I don't know if this is false advertisment, but I heard about a similer story. I wanted to know if it were true.

Re: Coupons; can I really save?

Without examining the coupon(s), I cannot provide you with any meaningful guidance regarding this issue. At first glance, and without the benefit of seeing the coupon and performing legal research on the issue, it is unlikely that you could collect 15 coupons and then show up at the dealership to purchase a $15,000 with the 15 coupons and no money. Typically, such coupons contain language that limits the buyer to one coupon per vehicle and applies the discount only to the advertised price or MSRP on the car's window sticker. There may also be limitations in terms of time or type of vehicle. The coupon may also state that it may not be considered an offer of sale. Again, without seeing the coupon and the ad or magazine where it came from, I cannot give you any reliable guidance. If you show up to the dealer with 15 coupons and the dealer gives you a $15,000 discount, please let me know so I can start collecting coupons too. Good luck.
