Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Deceptive - Fraudulant Internet Auction Sales

I purchased three computer hard drives in Jan 00 for less than $400. The hard drives were advertised as "New". I never opened the sealed pouches because it would devalue them. In April I finally resold one and the person who bought it informed me it isn't a "New" hard drive. I learned a few days ago from the manufacture's technical support that these hard drives are either refurbished or fakes. I have learned that other people have had the same problems. The internet aution company refuses to take them back. I sent a letter of dispute to my credit card company but it has been over 90 day since the transaction. What laws Florida State or Federal protects consummers from deceptive and or fraudulant internet sales practices?

Re: Deceptive - Fraudulant Internet Auction Sales

I am not aware of any laws specifically dealing

with fraudulent sales on the internet. However,

there are Federal and State laws concerning

fraudulent and deceptive trade practices which

appear would apply to your claim against the Seller.
