Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I am a Defendant. Being sued for a contract dispute. Acting Pro Se I made a motion to Comple for the Plaintiff to turn over the documents alleging that they had a claim.
The order was granted.
The Plaintiff is now asking for money from me ( the defendant ) to pay for making copies of files.
Logic says this does not seem right. They are suing me how can I defend myself ( or ask for a dismissal ) if I do not know what they are suing me for ? The original lawsuit asked for a lump sum they think they are owed. With no detail or breakdown as to what they believe I owe them.
Ay guidance? Heading to Law Library to see what I can find. Thank you.

It is their right to have you pay their costs in providing copies. It cost money to produce. However, if you win you can ask for them to pay your costs, including the costs you paid them to make the copies.
How do you think lawsuits are paid for?
