Within 15 days after vacating, the Landlord must send you a 15 day notice of withholding of any or all of your security deposit. The procedure is very specific, and if the Landlord fails to follow it correctly, they lose.
If they don't send you the notice, to the last known address they have of yours, then they must refund the full amount within 30 days after vacating.
If you get the 15 day notice, follow the instructions if you disagree.
The issue that often comes up is where did the Tenant move. So hopefully you advised your Landlord in writing where you moved to.
If the Landlord doesn't follow the procedure correctly, you can file an action in county court to get it back.
