Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I'm an event planner and would like to start my own business. I would like to do the following:
a) Open an LLC
b) Partner with host a host charity for each event that I plan
c) The charity would receive a portion of the proceeds from the event
d)I would receive the remaining proceeds
Is this legal and any special precautions I need to take to start this sort of business? Do you recommend an LLC?
Thank you.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with what you propose, but you cannot get into this type of business endeavor without having everything in writing -- written by lawyers. No one could recommend LLC vs. another business organization based upon what you have said.
LLC provides limited liability. Your proceeds must be limited to qualify as a nonprofit charitable event.
