Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
False Recruiting
I had contacted the recruiting dep of a Florida based Trucking Company, to lease on my truck. Their recruiting adds on various related web sites state that ''No more than 4 Moving Violations'' In contacting the company, I had stated the fact that I have 4 Moving Violations. I was told that it was acceptable, and a application was send to me via e-mail, completed and faxed back. The recruiting dep pulled my MVR and could see that I had 4 Moving Violations, I was called and accepted and to be at the Florida location on Jun 6th or there after for further processing. So I quit my current lease on company here in Texas and drove to the Florida Company. I went through some administrative procedures like taking UA test, completing my truck inspection and everything went fine. I was put up in a Hotel for the night by the company, and continued processing the next day to include the usual orientation. Now we are just waiting for the plates on my truck furnished by the company. Then I guess a final review was in process and some one determined that I Could not be leased on due to the 4 Moving Violations, I received a $500.00 Comp Check for the Fuel I had used to get to Florida and to go back. I lost a lot more $$ than that...please advise

Re: False Recruiting
You took the risk when you knew you had four moving violations. Be glad they paid for your hotel, fuel, etc. That's not false recruiting.
