Ficticious name or corporation

What are the differences and benefits of a ficticious name, corporation, and limited liability corporation? When starting a small, mail-order, on-line retail cosmetics business, what is legally necessary to begin this business?

At this stage an LLC is the way to go. It limits liability to the LLC and gives you tax & operating advantages of a partnership. Fictitious name gives no protection since you must file a business certificate which has all your personal information. Good luck in your new business.
