Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

I am forming an LLC for a very small business. I run and operate it as my husband is employed full time and can't do more than advise and help now and again. Since there is no income yet, and our model will be based on referral fees and sponsored ads on our site, Is a single member LLC ok to start? I just want this business separated from my personal accounts and have the option to add or change the structure later if and when we grow.

Good for you for starting a business!

Many people make the mistake of believing they have to have a corporation or LLC when they start, and that's just not true. You can get an EIN for your sole proprietorship, and open a separate bank account in the name of the business, just without the "LLC" at the end. When you start making money, you can revisit the issue. You're going to have more costs and paperwork to complete and nonsense you don't need right now with the LLC.

That's my advice.

Good luck.
