Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Hi,
I am starting a new website company and would like to use the word "Association" in the tile and curious if there is any legal reason that I can not use the word? The company will be a private for profit membership website but will not be a non-profit organization. I have done extensive searching on the web and have spoken with numerous colleagues and have gotten conflicting answers.
Thanks in advance.

It depends upon how you use it. I am unaware there is a restriction on that word, but it needs to be in conjunction with the rest of the company name. Also, the name has to end in one of a few tags, i.e., Inc., Incorporated, Corp., LLC, etc.
The other attorney is on point here. The word "Association" is not restricted to non-profits. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
