Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

i hired and attorney to purchase a business. After the fact I found out that the attorney I hired previously represented the seller of the business i was buying AND he ad or his law firm represented the commercial property management company that gave me the lease. Is that not dual representation or agency?

If an attorney had a conflict of interest, which was not disclosed to you or waived by you, that is a unethical. I suggest you discuss the potential conflict with the attorney and get a second legal opinion to determine if you were adequately represented. If you cannot reach a resolution, you can report it to the Florida Bar.

It is not duel if he was not representing him at the time. If it is a former client, however, there may still have been a conflict. But you don't mention any issue. Don't you like the deal or have you had second thoughts now and are looking for a way out.

I agree that it was not dual representation, but a conflict of interest. If you think that you were harmed, discuss it with the attorney and then contact the Florida Bar if necessary.
