why do some inmates serve 85% of time and some only 50% of there sentence.

Who serves 50% of their sentence. In Florida, an inmate must serve at least 85% of their sentence. An incarceration sentence is different from probation where a person may ask the judge to have their probation terminated early after 50% of their sentence is completed.
