Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
joint ownership after divource
my husband filled out a do it yourself divorce form and I signed it. Years later I found that I was still a joint owner of a lucrative silk screening business. The divorce was in 1998 and I never signed over my ownership to the company. Do I have any legal claim to the profits? There were many.

Re: joint ownership after divource
It would depend entirely on what your divorce decree provided, the nature of the ownership interest, whether the business was a corporation or not.

Yes, if the divorce papers did not mention the business interests and the ownership never changed, you would be entitled to your share of the profits based on your ownership interest.
