Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Law re: sale of personal property
The motorcycle I sold to an individual does not have a VIN number. I originally financed it thru a dealership, and have had it registered for approx. 7 years. The person to whom I sold the bike wants his money back claiming the bike has no VIN number.
Is the dealership liable? Title numbers were used to register the motorcycle, but VIN numbers were never present, (stamped onto the frame of the bike). This came to my attention after I sold the bike to this individual.

It seems to me you either had knowledge or should have had knowledge of the missing VIN when you purchaded the bike. If that is true then the statute of limitaions has run on any action you may have had against the dealer
