Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Legal Issues Pertaining To Chamber Of Commerce Conduct
I own and operate a bookstore off the west coast of Florida and have been a member of the local Chamber Of Commerce for 3 years. Every year I pay up to $300 in dues and fees as an active member. The Local Chamber has decided to sell, and is selling books in both their giftshop and in their magazine(circulation is in the 100's of thousands) the very books that my store sells (local interest & Florida History) I find this a direct conflict of intersest as a dues paying member. Are there any State or Federal laws governing the conduct of Chamber of Commerce Bodies? If so, where
can I access them? Any help is appreciated!

Re: Legal Issues Pertaining To Chamber Of Commerce Conduct
I know of no statutes or anything else of which you can avail yourself to cure what you view as improper. Obviously, you can terminate your membership in the Chamber. Why not discuss the problem with the Chamber officers? Perhaps a resolution can be reached which would be satisfactory to you.
