Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Do I Need a License?
My friend and I are starting an internet business. He lives in California and has gotten the business license and registration there. We want to put my Florida phone number on the website as the contact person. If this is done do I need to get another business license here?

Technically you will be conducting business in FL for the company; so you should register the company as a foreign entity conducting business in FL. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Re: Do I Need a License?
If the California corporation is going to be "doing business" from a Florida location, (i) the California company will have to file with the Florida Department of State for authority to conduct business in Florida as a foreign entity; and (ii) you should get local occupational licenses/permits from the City and County in which you will conduct business.
Other laws may apply depending on the type of business being conducted.
