Re: Limited Partnership
Generally speaking, yes.
Florida Statute 607.0302(6)provides that a Corporation (registered with the Florida Department of State) may, "purchase, receive, subscribe for, or otherwise acquire; own, hold, vote, use, sell, mortgage, lend, pledge, or otherwise dispose of; and deal in and with shares or other interests in, or obligations of, any other entity"
Florida Statute 620.1102 the "Limited Partnership Act" defines a "person" as an "individual, corporation, business trust...."
Florida Statue 620.1201 addresses the formation of LP's in Florida and subparagraph (C) of this statute requires a General Partner that is not an individual, to regsiter with the Florida Department of State.
Florida Statute 620.113 permits a "person" (individual or corporation) to serve as both a limited partner or a general partner.
