Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

My name is Mike, and I just had a hard time with a company that I purchased a auto part from. Long story short, I ordered a part, they sent me the wrong part, I returned the part paying shipping. They did not initially want to pay my shipping cost return even though they acknowleged it was their fault in first place, and then after arguing they only give me back half the shipping amount. I placed order seeing their website as legitimate and that they belonged to some accreditation organization. I contacted the association that the logo pertains to and they said they are not member. And indeed, I checked on the associations' website and behold they do not appear. The association name is Automotive Recyclers Association. Please let me know if this is a case. I do not want to go thru a long process, and I dont have money upfront. This is just bad business in their part.

Your experience does describe basic misrepresentation and is the basis for a

claim by lawsuit. The amount of damages may not justify a lawsuit but you can

notify that association of the misrepresentation. You also could file a claim in

small claims court, but it depends on the amount of the claim, where the company

is located, etc. Certainly you should avoid further business with the company and

notify them that you are considering a lawsuit.
