Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Minors and Legal Contracts
I worked for a company that sold computers and service for 6 months. During that time my computer crashed and I worked out a deal with the owner to get a computer and pay some on it each week. I did this until I was fired. After I was fired I payed as I could, and told the owner that without a job I could not afford to pay as much and she understood. Now the company comes to my new job and asks my bosses to take money out of my paycheck without my permission and then has started concating my family members to get the money. I was 17 when I got the computer, so I am legally responsible to pay the rest?

Re: Minors and Legal Contracts
People under 18 are minors and cannot be bound
by contract. However, there are some exceptions
to this general rule and that does not mean you
get to keep the computer.
