Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Monies owed.
I am an independent real estate appraiser. I am owed $4,000 from a company I no longer do appraisals for. They are making little effort to collect these past due fees. I signed a contract saying I get paid when they get paid. However, another appraiser was paid her split for unpaid fees which sets a precedent. I was asked to help in collecting past due fees (not in my contract). I'm considering small claims court. Any suggestions?

You may consider reviewing your written contract to determine if it contains an attorney fees' clause. This may assist in obtaining a satisfactory result, even in small claims court.
