Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Non Compete Clause

I signed an ''Independent Subcontractor Agreement'' stating ''At no time during the term of this agreement, nor within one year following termination of this agreement, shall the subcontractor be permitted to do any work directly for any of the clients of the contractor''.

It is not notrarized and there is no actual contract between myself and the company. The only signed papers are an empoyment application and the above paper. Is this a legal document and can I be held to it. Also does this apply to clients the contractor has lost.

Thank you.

Re: Non Compete Clause

Without reading the contract and learning more facts, I cannot give you any meaningful guidance regarding the enforceability of the contract. If you did not like the agreement, why did you sign it? Seek the advice of counsel.
