Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Non Compete
My husband was laid off as general manager of a manufacturing company December 31, 2002. There was no signed non compete agreement in force. If he goes into business that competes with a portion of his old companies product line is there any basis for a civil suit regarding priveleged market information or trade secrets? These
products and processes are not patented or trademarked.
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Non Compete
Based on the iformation provided, it appears your husband would have a strong defense to any civil action that might conceivably be taken against him by his former employer. However, without learning all relevant facts and reviewing all documentation that may relate to your husband's situation, I cannot provide you with any specific or reliable guidance. Should any claim be made against your husband, I would be glad to meet with him and discuss his viable legal alternatives.
