Non competition doucument

I would like to open my own business to sell health insurance. I was offered to work under an umbrella system. I was ask to sign a non compete form to do this. Is this legal and if I want to break away if I do not like the way that company does business do they have the right to stop me or interfere from signing up with a major medical company. What can I do if they are not allowed to prevent me to sign up with another company.

They can keep you from competing within time and location limitations. Let me know if you want a legal opinion on the enforcability of their contract.
