Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Non-Compete Agreement
A former employer claims that I signaed a non-compete agreement upon my hire. I did not remember signing anything and had no copies of this agreement. When his attorney sent me a copy of it with my signature, I noticed that it was dated March 4, 2001. I have never met my employer prior to Feb. 2002, and did not begin working with his company until March 6, 2002. Does this (the date) matter on this contract? The date is typed in at the beginning of the contract. There is no date next to the signatures.

Re: Non-Compete Agreement
It is unlikely that you could be held to the agreement before the date you signed it. However, if you did in fact sign the agreement, it won't really matter since you are bound going forward.
Best of luck.
Re: Non-Compete Agreement
If you signed it and it is a valid restrictrive agreement I doubt the incorrect date means much.
