Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Are non-compete agreements binding when the only choice I was offered was to accept a 50% pay reduction? Also I was released without any prior notice and escorted out the door, after 16 years of employment.

As a franchise attorney I can tell you there are many factors to consider in evaluating whether or not a non-compete is enforceable. Any attorney needs to see the non-compete you signed, as well as review the underlying facts and circumstances. Duress, lack of consideration, etc. are also factors. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
