Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Non-Compete

I volunteered my time at a Bead Shop in FL for several months before I became employed there. Several months later the employer had me sign a non-compete. Two months later I was fired, the non compete was for 3 yrs, no mileage was stated for distance from her location and it was written as a ''condition to hire''. I was already an employee and was not compensated for signing. I enjoyed my job and had no intention of leaving. The owner's friend moved back into town and since the small business could not support both of us, the owner made unusual demands of me hoping I would quit. Knowing that at my age and in a tourist town good jobs are hard to come by I did not quit so she fired me. Now I have an opportunity to work again in a position similar to my old one. However my non compete keeps me from working. Since it was not written by a lawyer, was not notorized, was a ''condition of hire'' (I was already employed) and I didnt receive compensation for signing as an existing employee and was signing under duress so I wouldnt lose my job...is this form binding in a court of law????
