Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Non-competite
I was doing consulting work for a company and left about 9 months ago. Some of thier clients are coming to me for work now because I can provide to them.
I had a contract that only said that I couldn't solicite thier clients and I haven't, they contact my company.
I was threaten by the other company that they are going to sue me for non-competite law? I am not sure what they are suggesting but I want to make sure that I have followed all the Florida guidelines. I don't believe I have done anything wrong because the clients search me out and I am a business person not trying to hurt anyone.
Thanks for you help.

Re: Non-competite
Check any and all agreements you had with the other party. They could bring an action for tortious interference if you did solicit or "stole" their clients. However, you suggest that they have only come to you. No problem there.
Re: Non-competite
If the clients sought you there should be no problem. I urge you to consult with counsel to review your employment contract.
