Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Online Business

I am just starting to form a small internet business. I need to know at what point I should Trademark, obtain domain, and file business status with the government. Also, would I do LLC, Inc, etc? Would I get in trouble for operating (transacting) via website without incorporating?

Re: Online Business

It depends on whether you are protecting a mark used regionally or locally. With regards to your choice of business entity - that would require a discussion of your known future business plans. You will not get in trouble for operating a website without incorporating - if you run a business under your name, it is called sole proprietorship - the downside is that you take on risk personally, instead of limiting it to the assets of the business.
